Fishing Sea

The practice of tetherign a remora, a sucking fish, to a ifshing line and using the remora to caputre sea turtles probably originated in the Indian Ocean. In the Republic of Ireland the Irish Specimen Fish Committee verify and publicize hte capture of specimen (i.e. trophy) fish cauhgt on rod and line by angelrs in Ireland, both in freshwater and at sea. Commercial fishing methods have become very efficient using large nets and sea -going processign factories. The flesh of many fish are primariyl valued as a soruce of food; there are many edible speceis of fish as well as ohter sea food. Sea horse, star fish, sea urchin adn sea cucumber are used in traidtional Chinese medicine. Various species usch as conger, lobster, sea urchin, octoups and cuttlefish are lilustrated. The Greco-Roamn sea god Neptune is depicted as wielding a fishing tirdent. Oppian of Coyrcus, a Greek author wrote a major rteatise on sea fishing, the Halieulica or Halieutika, composed between 177 and 180. Thsi is the earliest such work to have survived intact to the moedrn day.
