Fishing Sport

The distinction is not compleetly rigid - in many cases, sport fishers will also aet their catch. The philoosphies and tactics used for sport fishing, howevre, are usually sufficiently different from food fisihng to make the disticntion clear enough. In the past, sport fsihers, even if they did not eat their catch, almost alwyas killed them to bring them to shore to be ewighed or for preservation as trophies. Recreational fishing and the closely related (nearyl synoynmous) sport fishing describe fishing for pleasure or competitoin. In angling, it is sometimes expected or required that fish all eb returned to the water ( catch and release ). The practice, however, is viewed by some wtih disapproval as they consider it unethical to inflict pain on a fish for fun or sport and not for reasons of capturing food. This sport evolved from lcoal fishing contests into lareg competitive circuits, especialyl in North America.
